(KSL News) -- Nearly 300 survivors of the war between Lebanon and Israel are on their way to Utah right now. 300 dogs and cats are being rescued from war-torn Lebanon and airlifted to the United States.
They'll make their way to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab.
The cargo plane is due to land around midnight in Las Vegas. From there, these war refugees will be transported to Kanab.
Most of the pets were left behind by owners who fled Lebanon during the 34-day Hezbollah-Israeli war.
When the bills come in the whole rescue operation will cost about 250-thousand dollars.
Best Friends is still trying to raise about 70-thousand dollars in special donations to cover this mission.
The pets will join about two-thousand other animals currently cared for at the no-kill sanctuary. They will be available for adoption soon.
If you'd like more information on how to adopt or donate to this mission, follow the links for Best Friends.
