Utah 2034 organizers look to boost interest in biathlon ahead of Games

MIDWAY — Utah 2034 organizers would love to see interest in biathlon grow in the years leading up to the games.

Coming back from the 2026 games in Milan-Cortina, U.S. Biathlon President and CEO Jack Gierhart noted that crowds were consistently into the tens of thousands at Italy's Antholz-Anterselva arena, where world-class events for the sport are held each year.

The staff at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center invited journalists to try the sport Tuesday, in a much simplified, shortened relay race. Watch the video above to see how KSL's Mike Anderson and Alex Cabrero did!
