SALT LAKE CITY — A man killed Tuesday night after a car hit him while he was crossing Redwood Road has been identified by police as 62-year-old Alan Blackburn.

Salt Lake police officers responded to Redwood Road and North Temple just before 7 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a pedestrian getting hit by a car. When they arrived, they found Blackburn who had been hit while crossing Redwood Road, Salt Lake police detective Michael Ruff said.

The driver who hit him fled the scene, Ruff said. As of Thursday afternoon, police have not released information about the driver. They are asking for anyone who may have been in the area, and who saw what happened, to contact the department at 801-799-3000.
