SALT LAKE CITY — It's the last week of the regular season, and there's still a handful of teams who are jockeying for a region title.
Will the last week — of which, games will be spread out from Wednesday to Friday — shake up the hierarchy of the standings ahead of the postseason, or will region favorites come away with the crown?
The top five teams from last week remain in the final rankings of the season, but the remaining 15 teams saw a bit of a shakeup after last week's games.
Here's a look at our final Top 20+1 rankings of the season:
1. Corner Canyon (7-1, 2-1)
It's been a wild year in Region 3, and yet Corner Canyon remains on top for yet another season. With three teams tied at 2-1 in region play, the Chargers need a win over Lehi on Wednesday to claim the title. It's far from a guarantee, so buckle up!
2. Davis (8-1, 3-0)
For much of the season, Davis has been one of the best — and consistent — teams of the season. But like Corner Canyon, the Darts need one more win this week to claim a region title. Trust in quarterback Tradon Bessinger to have his team ready to go.
3. Ridgeline (9-0, 6-0)
With a region title in hand on an undefeated season, this 4A powerhouse is not content stopping there. And honestly, anything less than a 4A championship would be a disappointment for one of the best teams in the state. But the job isn't finished yet.
4. Skyridge (6-2, 2-1)
The Falcons had a bye week in preparation for a battle against an American Fork team that has lost some footing. Quarterback Kaneal Sweetwyne remains a central figure for Skyridge in the final game of the season and what could be a long postseason.
5. West (8-1, 6-0)
With a 42-0 win over Granger last week, West locked up the Region 4 crown. Outside of a narrow loss to American Fork earlier in the season, West has been a dominant force in 5A this season. The postseason tournament in 5A should be a fun one.
6. Mountain Ridge (7-2, 5-0)
The Sentinels have quietly taken care of business this season and are on the door of a region title. The biggest game in Mountain Ridge's favor came a couple weeks ago with a win over Herriman. But a date with Westlake is on the docket, and a Region 2 title is the prize.
7. Lehi (5-3, 2-1)
Remember how Region 3 is still unsettled? Hello chaos, thy name is Lehi. With a date set with top-ranked Corner Canyon on the books for Wednesday, the Pioneers could introduce some late-season entertainment.
8. Orem (7-2, 6-0)
In a 49-0 drubbing of Payson, Orem proved it remains one of the best teams in 5A. Is there a meeting with West in the future in a potential championship game? With Division-I talent on the roster, it's tough to doubt the Tigers.
9. Herriman (8-1, 4-1)
Outside of the previously mentioned loss to Mountain Ridge, the 2025 season has been special for the Mustangs. Few believed this three-win team from last season could have the season they've had, but Herriman remains a force in 6A on both sides of the ball.
10. American Fork (6-3, 1-2)
After upsetting Lone Peak the week after the Knights topped Corner Canyon, the Cavemen went on a bit of a slide in Region 3 play and now sit in a ties as the fourth-best team. But don't take the recent losses as proof of a bad team; the Cavemen remain a top-10 team.
Here's the rest of the Top 20, plus one team that caught our attention this week:
- 11 - Springville (8-1, 5-1)
- 12 - Fremont (7-2, 5-0)
- 13 - Lone Peak (5-4, 1-3)
- 14 - Crimson Cliffs (7-1, 4-0)
- 15 - Morgan (8-1, 4-0)
- 16 - Cedar (9-0, 5-0)
- 17 - Stansbury (7-2, 4-2)
- 18 - Westlake (7-2, 4-1)
- 19 - Woods Cross (6-3, 3-1)
- 20 - Syracuse (6-3, 2-2)
Plus-1. South Sevier (9-0, 3-0)
Admittedly, we've had our eyes on the Rams for some time, but what better time to highlight South Sevier than now? Coming off a 5-6 season last year, the Rams have been a dominant force in 2A this year, and are one of just three teams statewide who remain undefeated.
Usually 2A runs through San Juan, but South Sevier is making its claim this season. The beauty of it all, South Sevier gets to test its undefeated season on Friday in a winner-take-all showdown against San Juan at home.
Are the Rams for real, or does the 2A reign by the Broncos remain?
