MAESER, Uintah County — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in eastern Utah on Wednesday, officials said.

The quake happened 4.3 miles from Maeser in Uintah County and 5.7 miles from Vernal just before 6 p.m., the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Additional information was not immediately available.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly said in the headline that the quake happened in Duchesne County instead of Uintah County. It also said it happened just before 4 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.
