MAGNA — A 70-year-old Magna man was hit and killed while crossing the street late Thursday.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing 8400 West near 2900 South just before 11 p.m. when he was hit by a northbound vehicle, said Unified Police Sgt. Aymee Race.

The man was not in a crosswalk when he was hit, she said. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with police, Race said. As of Friday, the driver had not been arrested or cited.
