MOAB — A man who police say went missing earlier this month was found dead on Saturday in an apparent car crash.
About 10:46 a.m. on Saturday, Grand County police discovered Jason Patman dead in a remote area of the La Sal Mountains after he had been missing since Feb. 9. Patman's death appeared to be the result of a car accident, according to a release from the Grand County Sheriff's Office.
"The Grand County Sheriff's Office extends our deepest condolences to the Patman family at this time," the release said. "We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the Bureau of Land Management rangers, state rangers, our search and rescue team and deputies, along with the citizens who called in tips and assisted in the search efforts."
The incident remains under investigation, and no further information will be released "out of respect for the family," the release concluded.
