1 dead in crash in Snowville between a motorcycle and semitruck

SNOWVILLE, Box Elder County — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a 2024 Freightliner semitrailer north of Snowville Thursday morning.

Both vehicles were traveling east on I-84 when the truck hit the back of the motorcycle in the lane they were traveling in, causing a crash. The 61-year-old male motorcyclist from St. Louis succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Idaho state police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the semi, a 48-year-old man from Oakley, Summit County, was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Multiple agencies responded to the incident and the Idaho state police is investigating the collision.
