OGDEN — A police patrol car was sent spinning off the road and into a building after a collision Tuesday near the 2100 block of Monroe Boulevard, police say.
Just before 8 a.m., a police officer driving south was hit by a passenger vehicle "causing (the patrol vehicle) to spin off the road and into a building," according to a press release posted on Facebook.
Ogden police say the driver of the passenger vehicle, a male in his early 50s, "went through the stop sign without stopping." Multiple witnesses saw the collision, according to the police.
A resident of the damaged structure told KSL.com that half the building "almost was evacuated," but was later determined to be safe. Ogden police did not have any information on damages to the building.
Both the driver of the passenger vehicle and the officer were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, according to Ogden Police Lt. Will Farr.
