LAYTON — A Layton woman who police say is "a pornographic content creator and seller" has been arrested for investigation of distributing child sex abuse material.
The arrest comes just three weeks after her husband, who police say is an "airman" at Hill Air Force Base, was arrested in Utah on a warrant out of Arkansas for an undisclosed sex offense and is currently waiting to be extradited to that state.
Savanna Marie Fowler, 28, was charged Monday in Utah's 2nd District Court with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.
According to charging documents, in 2022, Fowler "sent at least one image of child pornography via Snapchat from Japan to a user in the United States."
In November, federal agents with the Department of Homeland Security identified a file-sharing account "that included over 400 images or videos of child pornography," the charges state.
On June 26, agents served a search warrant at Fowler's Layton home and "found dozens of images of child pornography on several of (her) electronic devices" as well as "a child sex doll in (her) closet," according to charging documents.
Investigators requested Fowler be held in the Davis County Jail without the possibility of posting bail due to "her admission to distributing child sex abuse material internationally and her occupation as a pornographic content creator and seller," charges state.
A police booking affidavit also notes "Fowler's husband is an Air Force airman, but was recently arrested on an unrelated warrant for a sex offense committed in another state and is awaiting extradition."
A fugitive from justice warrant was issued June 18 for 29-year-old Aaron Bradlee Fowler, according to court records. An extradition warrant states the alleged crime happened in Pulaski County, Arkansas.
