OGDEN — Six people are displaced after a fire destroyed a home in Ogden Friday evening.

Ogden Fire Battalion Chief Scott Atkinson said firefighters were called out to a home near 200 N. Wall Ave. about 5:30 p.m., where smoke was coming out of a two-story home.

The fire was contained to an upstairs back bedroom, and the blaze was extinguished quickly, Atkinson said. No people were injured in the fire, but the family's dog died.

Two adults and four children are displaced, along with a second dog, a snake and a gecko. Atkinson estimated the home sustained about $200,000 in smoke and water damage.

The cause is still under investigation.
