MOAB — Officials announced the identities of the two pilots who died in a plane crash in Grand County last week.

The Grand County Sheriff's Office responded to a downed aircraft in a remote location in the Book Cliffs area on Feb. 7. The two occupants in the plane were killed in the crash.

The pilots were identified by the sheriff's office as Paul Michael Berliner and Darrin Du Ray Towe. Their ages and cities of residence have not been released.

The plane was a chartered aircraft en route to Tacoma, Washington, from the Grand Junction Regional Airport in Colorado, the sheriff's office said. The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
