SANDY — A fugitive barricaded themselves into a Sandy home Thursday evening as federal authorities were pursuing the individual, resulting in a standoff.

The U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team was attempting to serve a warrant on a suspect when the person fled into a home. Sandy police responded to assist in the incident, according to Sgt. Greg Moffitt with Sandy police.

The incident started unfolding in the area of 1800 East and 10000 South. Moffitt had urged residents to remain indoors.
