MURRAY — Murray police are seeking the public's help in identifying a driver who allegedly hit a bicyclist and drove off.

About 7:15 p.m. on Monday, a man in his 50s was riding a bicycle westbound on 5600 South near 1100 East when he was hit by a car, according to a prepared statement from police.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. The man lived in the area where he was hit, according to police, but no other information about the victim has been released.

Police are looking for a blue Toyota hatchback last seen leaving the area of the crash.

"The vehicle will have front-end damage and it is likely the driver knew their vehicle struck something in the roadway," police stated.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-840-4000.
