LOGAN — U.S. 89 was closed in both directions for several hours Thursday morning due to multiple crashes, including a semitruck that crashed and rolled over.

The canyon was closed at the mouth of the canyon in Logan, as well as near 700 West in Garden City, Rich County, near Bear Lake.

"Logan Canyon currently closed due to a semi rollover," the Utah Department of Transportation said in a social media post Thursday morning. "Crews are working to get the canyon cleared."

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cam Roden said it appears the roadways on U.S. 89 were slick, and said about four vehicles slid off the road at the mouth of the canyon.

He said there were no injuries reported in any of the crashes.

The roadway had fully reopened as of 3 p.m.
