SALT LAKE CITY — Tickets to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' annual celebration of Latin American culture can be reserved online beginning 10 a.m. Tuesday.

"Luz de las Naciones," or "Light of the Nations," will be held on Nov. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

Potential attendees may want to set their clocks since tickets to last year's "Luz de las Naciones" sold out within minutes. The event is now in its 21st year, with 2022 marking the event's return after a two-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year's celebration will feature a cast of 1,000 volunteers who will wear traditional clothing and perform music and dances from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Spain. This year's theme is "Nuestra Tierra," or "Our Land" in English.

"We are excited to be back in the Conference Center once again," said Israel González-Nieri, the program's director, in a statement. "This year's cultural event will feature new music and dances depicting not only the traditions and beauty of the land of our forefathers, but also how blessed we are to live in the promised land that God prepared for us long ago.

"We will also celebrate the arrival of the first Latino settlers that came to this (Salt Lake) valley a century ago looking for a better life and the opportunities to continue to build the kingdom of God on Earth."

Those who are unable to snag a ticket can watch a live broadcast of the event in English, Spanish or Portuguese on Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. or a recording of the event on the church's website, Gospel Stream app or YouTube page.
