QUEENSTOWN — I grew up with cats. Lots and lots of cats. So I enjoy the calming sound of a purring kitten and the sight of a lazy cat lounging in the sun. Cats are comfortable and nostalgic for me.

But just because I prefer cats doesn't mean that I can't also respect dogs. I'm in awe of the energy and positivity a good dog brings to the table. None of my cats ever joyfully jumped into my arms when I got home from school. I was lucky if they would even lift their heads to half-heartedly acknowledge me while they napped on the couch.

Given my appreciation for dogs, I loved this video clip.

These two border collies belong to a guy named Harry Denton. If that name sounds familiar, it's because Denton set a world record in 2011 by popping a wheelie that lasted for more than 1,100 feet without any pedaling.

He is riding chainless, as the caption state, "and the dogs are leading him out. One jump featured with Harry getting stylish, while the dogs get more stylish. This is a relatively normal summer day in this area."

Not a bad way to spend a summer day. A world-record cyclist out on the trails with a couple of speedy and talented dogs. Just confirms, again, that the good people of New Zealand have figured out how to get the most enjoyment out of their amazing country.
