CANINE CORNER — The rise of affordable and easy-to-install indoor security cameras has been ruff for many pets who probably couldn't figure out how their owners were suddenly able to track their bad behaviors while they were away so easily.

But they're quickly catching on to us.

Enter Chino, a forward-thinking German shepherd who has the internet cracking up with her perfect coverup plan. As you can see in this short video, the pooch stares directly at a security camera for a few seconds, viewing it with a bit of curiosity before grabbing a nearby stuffed animal and plopping it in front of the camera a few moments later.

The video was originally uploaded to TikTok in May, amassing more than 500,000 views there, before it resurfaced online elsewhere this week.

Chino's owner told Newsweek she set up the camera to just see what her 8-year-old dog was up to while the family was out for the day. What you can't hear is that she's in mid-conversation with Chino when she decided to hang up by placing her favorite toy in front of the camera.

"Imagine my surprise when she did that. I never trained her to do that!" Chino's owner told the outlet.

Who knows what diabolical scheme Chino had in mind at the moment, but her owner had one idea.

"Now to go raid the fridge," her owner jokes in the video's original caption.

Well played, Chino. Well played.
