LAYTON — A driver suffered critical injuries during a crash with a semitruck on I-15 Monday morning, but their condition has since been upgraded to serious.
The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 near Church Street in Layton, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Luis Silva Santisteban.
A car and a semitruck collided, then went off the roadway and struck the center median, according to UHP Sgt. Cam Roden. The driver of the car was seriously injured, he said.
Investigators are looking into a possible medical condition that may have occurred prior to the crash.
Roden said the left two lanes of the roadway were closed, but had reopened as of 9:20 a.m.
Troopers didn't release more information about either driver.
