CEDAR CITY — A 19-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision in Cedar City on Saturday morning.
Police responded to a call about a two-car collision at 7:36 a.m. near 4900 West and Old Highway 91. The driver and sole occupant of a 2019 gray Hyundai Santa Fe was a 19-year-old man, pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, a 2013 white Ford F-150, was a woman in her 30s who was alert at the scene and sustained only minor injuries, police said. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance after complaining of chest pain.
The woman was northbound on the highway and told sheriff's deputies that the driver of the Santa Fe was southbound when his car entered her lane.
Police said weather, heavy traffic or bad road conditions were not factors in this crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
