MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, Penn. — Last Sunday wasn't your average day at work for a pizza delivery driver in Pennsylvania.
Tyler Morell with Cocco's Pizza was making a delivery when he found himself in the right place, at the right time to help catch somebody who police say led them on a high-speed chase.
"A car just came up doing like 75," Morell said. "He beached on the side of this person's lawn and almost took out a couple of cars."
The stolen Kia crashed, the suspect got out of the car and started to run. That's when Morell put his best foot forward.
"I started walking towards the road, but I couldn't do anything with my hands because I'm holding the pizza, so I just stuck my leg out," Morell said.
The suspect tripped over Morell's foot and tumbled to the ground, where police arrested him.
The best part is, the heroic act was all caught on doorbell video.
Police praised Morell's quick thinking. "He gave us the help we needed. By tripping him, it gave us the time to catch up with the gentleman," said Brookhaven Chief of Police Michael Vice. "In this case, this guy ultimately saved the day."
"I am so sick of seeing crime go on, especially half a mile down the road," Morell said. "So if they needed a hand or a foot, I was there."
By the way, the pizza was still delivered safely.
"Ten out of 10 delivery," said customer Danielle Yeager, who ordered the pizza.
