LeeAnn Montrone, 59, missing for a day and a half is home, safe and sound.
This case was solved in the easiest way possible; she just came home on her own.
Montrone was last seen by her family on Wednesday afternoon. The family was worried because they said it wasn't like her to just disappear. They were also concerned because she suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Officers said Montrone liked to go to churches and to the Salt Lake library, but she wasn't there.
It turns out she just drove around for a while and got a place to stay last night. Then this morning, she came home to everyone's relief.
Sgt. Robin Snyder, spokeswoman for the Salt Lake City Police Department, said, "So many times in these situations, it's a tragic ending. So it's nice to see this one ending happily. She's home, she's safe, she was not assaulted, and she was alone the whole time."
Sgt. Snyder also wanted to thank the public. She said the police department received lots of tips from people who said they were looking for Montrone.
