SALT LAKE CITY — Before there was Lin-Manuel Miranda's smash-hit "Hamilton" there was Honda's 2013 Presidents Day commercial.

Hamilton tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton's life, featuring key historical figures in a new light. Miranda has described his musical as "America then, as told by America now."

In this video, however, historical figures of the past are selling America a car of the future. The commercial features Abraham Lincoln and George Washington in a ballad-style song praising the upscale features of Honda's vehicles.

The legendary presidents point to the the backup camera and the "red, white and bluetooth."

The commercial leans on historical references to promote its Presidents Day sale, with Abraham Lincoln telling the audience he wants to "fourscore a deal with you."

While audiences usually turn to the Super Bowl for commercial entertainment, Honda's 2013 Presidents Day advertisement shows the company's creativity has no season.
