AT HOME — Home is where the heart is, and this dad has all the heart and more for his son.

In this video, a dad learns that his then 12-year-old son, Kaiden, has persevered through tryouts and made his middle school basketball team.

One may expect some excitement and some hugs and high fives, no biggie. But clearly, Kaiden knows his dad. After dad hears the news and his motionless shock wears off, Kaiden makes a break for it and starts running as fast as his young-man legs can take him.

Dad laughs and cackles and yells with delight as he chases his son to give him the biggest congratulations. This included, but may not be limited to, tackling Kaiden on his bed, wrapping him in a full-body hug (legs included), and continuing squeals of excitement.

But dad becomes overwhelmed with his joy and stands up to turn his face from the camera as his body still radiates with excitement. "Dad, you want to cry, don't you?" asks the female behind the camera, through her own peals of joyous laughter.

The love and pride for his son are clear. It's nearly impossible not to grin and laugh through the whole thing even as a viewer, so it's not hard to imagine how great this reaction made Kaiden feel.

I don't have a lot of wishes and dreams for other people — those are your own business. But from the bottom of my heart, I truly wish that everyone in the world could have at least one person in their life who reacts like this to their good news and personal accomplishments. Hype and joy and happy tears for days is the kind of support we all deserve.
