THE SALON — It's no surprise that many growing children have a "nail polish phase."
With all those shiny, bright colors, what's not to love? The phase may come a little earlier and last a little longer (or forever) if your mom is a nail tech.
Three-year-old Addy is just the child described above — she's going through a nail polish phase and her mom is a nail tech. There's nothing incredibly special about that or the many videos of children playing with nail polish. Frankly, the entertainment value generally has a limited audience of grandparents.
But Addy brings something special to the table with her mop or curly hair and lightly sassy personality.
In the video, Addy is painting her mom's nails with great concentration. Her fine motor skills are about what you'd expect for a toddler, and just as much polish goes on the finger as it does the nail.
Mom comments about all the polish on her finger and that's when Addy hits us with the one-two punch of cuteness and charm. With a sweet Southern drawl, she exclaims, "I'm trying my best, honey," then looks up with a serious, heart-melting grin.
The way she says "honey" (and the whole sentence) is not how you just read it in your head. The "honey" is drawn out and emphasized in a way that it's virtually impossible to not start grinning ear-to-ear.
If that still sounds like a "grandparent entertainment" video, maybe you can be peer pressured into watching it when you know that the clip has been viewed over 15.9 million times on TikTok alone.
Just try your best and give it a watch, honey.
