WEST JORDAN — An employee of a store that sells hunting and camping supplies is accused of stealing multiple guns, according to police.

Jorrien Ryan Jorgensen, 20, of Taylorsville, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with seven counts of theft of a firearm, a second-degree felony.

According to charging documents, Jorgensen worked at C-A-L Ranch Stores, 2735 W. 7800 South. Court documents say he was a new employee.

On Dec. 6, another employee called police after empty boxes that used to contain handguns were discovered, charging documents state. Employees then reviewed surveillance video and saw Jorgensen picking up a firearm box, going to a corner of the gun vault out of view of the security camera, and then returning the empty box to its original spot, according to police.

Investigators believe Jorgensen took seven guns between Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, the charges state.

On Dec. 7, when Jorgensen showed up for work, police were called back to the store to arrest him. He was carrying one of the stolen guns at the time of his arrest, according to the charges. Detectives then served a search warrant on his home where the remaining six missing guns were found, the charges state.
