SALT LAKE CITY — Colorado police on Monday arrested a man on suspicion of committing a series of robberies along the Wasatch Front in August and September.
Markee Denzel Hagans, 24, of Utah, was arrested in Greenwood Village, Colorado, according to the FBI's Salt Lake City Field Office. Hagans was detained by the Greenwood Village Police Department with assistance from FBI Denver's Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force.
Investigators said Hagans was approached by law enforcement while inside a vehicle at a hotel parking. He was arrested without incident.
Local police departments and the FBI asked for the public's help in identifying a serial robber earlier this month.
The FBI said Hagans is suspected of robbing the America First Credit Union at 3499 S. State in South Salt Lake on Aug. 30 and the Chase Bank at 1284 E. 3900 South in Salt Lake City on Sept. 27. Hagans is also suspected of robbing a man outside a credit union in Clearfield on Sept. 9.
Hagans made his initial appearance Tuesday afternoon in the United States District Court of Colorado, according to the FBI.
