KSL.com Game of the Week: Bingham at Mountain Ridge

Why did we choose this game?

One spot separates the two teams in the KSL.com Top 20+1 rankings this week, and the crown for Region 3 likely runs through either Bingham or Mountain Ridge (West Jordan would like a word, too). With four games left in the regular season, a win against a region opponent, especially against one jockeying for position, goes a long way.

Bingham comes into the game ranked No. 8, with two losses to teams ranked higher — No. 3 Corner Canyon (38-28) and No. 4 Timpview (49-30) — and a roster loaded with talent. The Miners average a region-high 33.2 points per game, while holding teams to just 22.5 — that's even with their two losses to high-scoring teams.

The Sentinels, however, are not to be outmatched. Mountain Ridge averages 32.5 points per game and holds teams to just 20.3 points, though their schedule has been easier than Bingham's up until this point in the season. Their only loss came after Westlake claimed a 1-point win in double overtime after a 21-0 comeback by the Thunder in the fourth quarter.

With a tougher schedule, is Bingham more proven and ready to go toe-to-toe with Mountain Ridge? Or is Mountain Ridge in a prime position to take a strong lead in the region title race? We're excited to see it all play out.
