One team had four-star quarterback Isaac Wilson, the other team dual-threat Dallen Martinez. But the biggest difference in Corner Canyon's top-10 clash was two-way running back Drew Patterson.Why did we choose this game?
Looking at the schedule, this is easily the best game of the week — and a fun rematch no less. At the time these two schools played last year, Corner Canyon was on a 42-game winning streak and looked to be the team to beat in 6A. Bingham was merely a blip on the radar as the Chargers rolled to a 35-7 victory en route to tying the UHSAA record of 48-straight wins.
This year, though, Corner Canyon may be a bit more mortal — potentially. The Chargers continue to replenish star power on the field and are headlined by quarterback Isaac Wilson, who already has interest from several Division I schools. Corner Canyon comes into the game ranked No. 5 in the KSL.com Top 20+1 poll following a 42-7 loss to Bishop Gorman.
The Chargers will be happy to be back in Utah, but a game against No. 6 Bingham isn't a walk in the park. The Miners have flirted with a return to its former dynasty ways, but a team like Corner Canyon continues to stand in the way. Can Bingham finally get the best of Corner Canyon and go to 3-0 on the season after two dominant wins of the season?
