I've seen a lot of unexpected friendships among different animals. The fox and the hound. Little cats and big dogs. Bambi and Thumper.
But the pairing in this video was a little surprising.
When the goat emerges from the forest, I thought it was all alone. Then, surprise! It has a little monkey friend.
Wait for it.. 😊 pic.twitter.com/1mAAVirQzl

At first glance, the white monkey holding onto the goat's neck blends in, but then it reaches for a handful of berries, and the peak cuteness begins.
It's pretty cute when the monkey is riding like a little backwards backpack, but when it starts riding the goat like a horse — that's true friendship.
Maybe I'll spend the rest of my Memorial Day in the forest with a handful of snacks and wait for another unlikely pairing. The equivalent in the West might be a deer and a squirrel? A bear and an opossum?
The most likely surprise pairing in urban America is probably a human pushing a baby stroller — but instead of a human baby, there's a puppy inside.
