SOUTH SALT LAKE — A man has been arrested in the shooting of a man outside of a South Salt Lake strip club early Saturday who later died from his injuries, South Salt Lake police said.

Romalice Latrell Williams, 36, was arrested for investigation of aggravated murder, according to South Salt Lake police spokeswoman Danielle Croyle.

"Thanks to the dedicated detectives that have worked nonstop following up on leads that ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect," Croyle said. "A violent offender has been removed from the community in a timely manner."

Police responded to reports of shots fired at Southern X-posure Showclub about 12:11 a.m., according to Croyle. When officers arrived, a man in his mid-20s was located and transported to the hospital.

The man later died of his injuries, Croyle said.

Williams was allegedly seen fleeing the area but was not located at the time, according to Croyle. Police later released photos of the vehicle and a description of the person of interest in the shooting.

The identity of the man who was killed was not released.
