FM 100's Jill Atwood ReportingYou may have already seen the billboards or caught an issue of Utah's first magazine geared exclusively towards women on your local newstand. It's called Wasatch Woman Magazine.
Someone's kitchen is the scene where creativity, mixed with hard work and a dash of guts blends the perfect recipe.
Amy Beal Cooke, Founder Wasatch Woman Magazine: "I've been through that, or my sister's been through that, or my neighbor's been through that and it just brings you together and just makes you realize these are not isolated incidences and we all have joys to share, and concerns that we can help each other with."
Amy Beal Cooke is one of the founders of Wasatch Woman Magazine. She says it all started with girlfriends talking around the table just like this. Now a year and six issues later, they think they have something.
Barbara Vineyard, CEO Wasatch Woman Magazine: "I think women are amazing they are strong they have wonderful stories to tell."
The magazine focuses on a number of issues. Whether it's starting your own, whether it's moving up in a business, whether it's giving back to the community, whether it's just having gone through a divorce, whether it's infertility, dealing with abuse, any type of topic that affects women.
Amy Beal Cooke: "We don't want it to be all about how to look pretty and fill your head with nonsense. We want to talk about what women really face, the issues that women face every day and how they get through those issues."
These editors will tell you Wasatch Magazine is a celebration of women, all women and their ongoing contributions to our community.
By the way, their sixth issue is now on store shelves.
