OREM — An Eagle Mountain man was arrested Monday and accused of stabbing three people inside an Orem home.

Wilton Vladimir Molina, 24, was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of three counts of attempted aggravated murder and interfering with an arresting officer.

Police responded to the chaotic scene just before 5:30 p.m. in the area of 1400 South and 720 East.

"Officers arrived on scene and found there were three victims and the suspect had been subdued by one of the male victims in the front yard," according to a police booking affidavit.

Two men and a woman were attacked by Molina, according to police. Two of the victims, a husband and wife, rent rooms in their basement to Molina and the third victim.

The woman said she was in the kitchen cooking when Molina entered and "just stared at her," then went to the basement. A short time later, the other man who rents a room started screaming, "He's stabbing me," according to the affidavit. "The female made her way to the stairway and saw Molina charging up the stairs with his hands raised and a knife in one of his hands."

The woman's 12-year-old son ran out of the house to get help from a neighbor. The man who was stabbed also exited the house and called 911 before collapsing two homes away, police say.

The woman tried to escape to the dining room where Molina followed, the affidavit says. Her husband heard the commotion, entered the room and started to fight Molina.

"Both the female and her husband fought with Molina to try and disarm him. In this process the husband was stabbed in the left shoulder significantly. He was also stabbed in the right bicep and both of his hands were severely lacerated. The husband was also bitten on the left calf. The wife sustained a laceration to the left wrist and left shin and was also bitten by Molina on the right elbow," officers wrote in the arrest report.

The husband took a wooden chair and hit Molina with it several times in the neck and head, the affidavit states. The husband was then able to contain Molina until police arrived.

Neighbor Katie Adelmann described a chaotic scene in her front yard before officers arrived.

"I hear screaming, so I look outside the door and I see this ... guy outside and he was like pouring blood out of his stomach," she said. "So I go to the living room and I look out the window and I see these two kids running back and forth, trying to look for help, I think."

She said she had never seen the man police later put into handcuffs, but she recognized the others as her neighbors.

The second man who was attacked suffered five stab or lacerations wounds to his abdomen, left arm and neck, according to the affidavit. Both men were taken to a local hospital where they underwent surgery. Their conditions were not considered to be life-threatening, the affidavit says. The woman suffered minor injuries, according to police.
