SUPER MARIO WORLD — In 1990 the world was given one of the greatest gifts of all time … that's right, Super Mario World was released in stores. Building on what worked so well in the earlier Mario games, this gem was the perfect game for the new Super Nintendo system.
If you ever played Super Mario World, then I'm preaching to the choir. You already know that it's amazing. Heck, you were probably one of the 20 million people who bought the game and made it the Super Nintendo system's bestselling game. It seemed that every kid I knew was committed to battling Bowser and saving Princess Toadstool.
So what is an appropriate way to pay tribute to what some people consider the best video game ever created? Obviously, you play the theme song on piano and melodica. Check out this amazing rendition:
Perhaps you don't think you have the ability to play two instruments at the same time. That's no problem. There are plenty of talented and quirky folks on YouTube who are happy to arrange the music and perform it for you. All you need to do is tune in so that you can be transported back to the simpler times of 1990, when Super Mario truly ruled the world.
