AMERICAN FORK — A body found Thursday in a river in American Fork Canyon may be a Highland man who has been missing since July 11, according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said that they responded to reports of a body in a river on Snake Creek Road just above Tibble Fork Reservoir on Thursday.

Officials have a "strong suspicion" that the body found is Darren Przbyla, 38, whom search and rescue teams had been looking for for two days with success, Utah County Sheriff's Lt. Erik Knutzen said.

The sheriff's office had begun searching for Pryzbyla on Monday after he had not returned from a camping trip. Przybyla's car was found abandoned in American Fork Canyon above Tibble Fork Reservoir along Snake Creek Road, near where he told his family he was going camping, said Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon.

The body displayed no obvious signs of trauma, foul play or self-inflicted wounds, Knutzen said. The man was wearing athletic gear and looked like he had been there for several days.

Official identification is pending confirmation from the medical examiner and will likely require dental verification, according to the lieutenant.
