EMERY — A woman died after her car collided head-on with a Utah Department of Transportation vehicle in Emery County on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash occurred about 10 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 10 about five miles northeast of the town of Emery, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden.
The 43-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was driving south in a green 2000 Honda Odyssey when her car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the UDOT dump truck, according to a highway patrol news release.
The woman died at the scene.
The woman's car was trying to pass other cars on the highway when the crash occurred, Roden said. The UDOT employee who was driving the truck was not hurt, he added.
