HUNTSVILLE — A man in critical condition after nearly drowning at Pineview Reservoir Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The 25-year-old man entered the water to help his brother who went under. The man began to struggle in the water himself and went underwater for around 10 minutes, Weber County Sheriff's Office said.
The man was wearing jeans, which Weber Deputy Fire Chief David Reed said might have become heavy while in the water. The brother made it safely to shore, and other onlookers in boats retrieved the man and started CPR before first responders arrived.
With the help of first responders, the man had a heartbeat but was unconscious when he was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition by medical helicopter.
