MIDVALE — One person is in critical condition after being shot in the parking lot of a Motel 6 in Midvale.
Police responded to the shooting at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday at 7263 Catalpa St. in Midvale, Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler told KSL.com. They discovered a man in "extremely critical condition," Cutler said.
The shooting occurred after two men both in their early 20s came to the hotel together, but had an argument that escalated from the hotel room into an altercation in the parking lot, Cutler explained.
The victim was transported to Intermountain Medical Center, where he underwent surgery. Further updates on his condition were not immediately available, Cutler said.
Police have successfully located the suspect in the shooting and arrested him without incident, Cutler said, but he has not yet been booked into jail. When he is officially booked, Unified police will release the suspect's identity, Cutler said.
