Two men are in police custody this morning after allegedly threatening a shopper in the parking lot of a West Valley department store.
Police say the two approached a man outside the Kohl's store near 5600 West and 3100 South around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. They allegedly demanded money then hit the man over the head with a beer bottle.
Police were able to track them down after the victim called in with a description of their vehicle.
Lt. Dalan Taylor of the West Valley City Police Department said, "The suspects pulled over. The driver got out fine, but the passenger wasn't compliant. We did have to send the dog in. Once the dog went in the door, he came out the passenger's door and decided to be cooperative with us."
The would-be robbers weren't able to get any cash from the shopper.
