SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified a man who died after being struck by a street racing car late Saturday night.

Two vehicles were racing on 900 South near 3000 West shortly before 1 a.m. when an uninvolved car pulled a U-turn in front of them and was struck by a racer, Salt Lake police Lt. Lisa Pascadlo confirmed.

The driver was transported to the hospital but died of his injuries. He was identified Monday as Dakota Enman, 25, police said.

The racing driver stayed on scene. Police are investigating the incident before recommending charges.

Further information about the crash has not been released.
