Police identify man who died in March 2 crash in Layton

LAYTON — Police on Tuesday identified a man who died in a crash in Layton last week.

Anthony Richardson, 54, died in the crash, according to Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman.

The crash took place about 2 p.m. March 2 at the intersection of state Route 193 and 725 West in Layton, according to police.

A 20-year-old man was driving west S.R. 193 and turned south onto 725 West. The truck collided with an SUV Richardson was driving eastbound on state Route 193.

Richardson died from his injuries at the scene. The 20-year-old man, who has not been identified, was transported to a hospital via a medical helicopter.

As of Tuesday, there were no other updates in the case, Lyman said. The crash was still being investigated and police were waiting for results from toxicology reports, he added.
