AROUND THE CORNER — I hate moving. Like I really hate it. It's a huge pain and the last time we did it was a nightmare.

We moved everything in our home into the garage so we could show the house. The house then sold, but we didn't have a new place to go yet. So we moved everything from the garage to a storage unit while we lived with family for a short time. We then found our new place, but I wanted to do some work on it, so we moved everything out of the storage unit and into the new garage so I could work on the house. The day finally came to move everything from the garage into the house and then I got appendicitis. That made moving even more difficult. All in all, we moved four times in a matter of months all for one move.

There has to be a better way, right?

The other problem we've had is that we loved our old house — much more than our current house — but we love the area of the current so much more than the area of the last house. Another conundrum. How do I solve this? How do I get my cake and eat it too while not moving?

Now I know: just move the whole house. Well, that's what happened in San Francisco.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle — who posted the video — this old Victorian home is 139 years old and needed to move. The San Francisco historical society decided instead of tearing the house down they'd just move it a few blocks. Simple enough, I suppose. Or, maybe not. In the video, you can see this was an undertaking. Trees had to be trimmed and signs removed in order to get the six-bedroom home out of the current location and into the new one.

So, next time you move just take the whole house with you and don't bother with all those boxes. It can't be too expensive, right?
