BLACK ROCK, Millard County — A train with multiple cars containing flammable liquids derailed along state Route 257 on Saturday.

In a statement on Sunday, Union Pacific said the train carried "mixed freight" in 28 cars and derailed about 4:30 p.m. "There are no injuries, and Union Pacific is currently working to remove debris and repair the area of the derailment," it said.

Union Pacific said an engineer and a conductor were on the train.

Millard County Sheriff's Office Lt. Robert Clark said six cars were carrying flammable liquids. The other cars contained bulk flour, wheat and other commodities. The liquids were contained to the railroad right-of-way. The derailment did not affect any roadways.

Crews from Millard County Sheriff's Office, Delta Fire Department, Hinckley Fire Department and Union Pacific worked to clear the accident scene.

"The cause of the incident remains under investigation," Union Pacific said.
