SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash around 9 p.m. in the area of Gregson Avenue and Main Street, according to South Salt Lake Police Department.

According to police, an older black Dodge Durango left the scene of the fatal accident. The car is expected to have some front end damage. The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team is now processing the scene, police said in a Facebook post.

Officials advise people to avoid the area and take alternate routes.

Further information, including the identity of the victim, was not released.
