Man arrested in connection with Dec. 4 shooting at South Salt Lake gas station

SOUTH SALT LAKE — Christopher Lee Barros, 33, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of shooting a man in the face at the Maverik near 3260 S. West Temple, according to South Salt Lake police.

The man, who was not identified, was shot in the face in the parking lot of the store on Dec. 4. The man was taken to the hospital and has since been recovering from the injury.

Barros was out on parole at the time of the shooting.

Barros was booked into the 3rd District Court-Salt Lake County on three first-degree felonies (attempted aggravated murder, aggravated robbery and felony discharge of firearm); three-second degree felonies (mayhem, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and obstruction of justice) and two class B misdemeanors (manufacture/possession of burglary tools and use or possession of drug paraphernalia).
