Man hospitalized after being shot in convenience store parking lot

SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police were investigating a shooting at a convenience store parking lot Friday.

Just after 7 a.m. a shooting was reported at Maverik, 3260 S. West Temple.

A car was in the parking lot with at least two people inside when the passenger got out and stumbled across the parking lot after being shot, said South Salt Lake police spokeswoman Danielle Croyle.

The man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

There was no immediate information about the gunman or the car.
