GRANTSVILLE — Officials on Sunday identified the semitruck driver who died in a Tooele County crash Friday morning.
Duane M. Wagstaff was a 54-year-old Bountiful resident.
In a news release, officials said the wreck happened about 10:43 a.m. when a westbound Freightliner pulling two trailers veered off the right side of I-80 west of Grantsville near the intersection with state Route 196. The cabin and trailers overturned, officials said, and came to rest upside down.
Wagstaff was the only occupant of the vehicle; he was unconscious when first responders arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck closed one lane of I-80 for a time. Officials are investigating why the truck left the roadway.
