Police identify woman found killed in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police have released the name of a woman who was found dead earlier this week in South Salt Lake.

Kaitlyn Barron, 23, of San Antonio, Texas, died from blunt force trauma, police said Wednesday.

The woman's body was discovered partially clothed in a parking lot near 2550 South and 300 West, according to a Facebook post from police.

A passerby called police about 7:30 a.m. Monday to report the body, South Salt Lake police spokesperson Danielle Croyle added.

In an update given Wednesday, police said evidence from the scene had been submitted for forensic analysis and the investigation was ongoing.
