HUNTSVILLE — A 19-year-old man died in the hospital from his injuries after a motorcycle crash sent him approximately 20 feet downhill Sunday afternoon.

Weber Fire District Capt. Kevin Sheridan said dispatch received reports of a motorcycle crash on Trappers Loop Road around 3:40 p.m. The man was traveling southbound when he took an uphill corner too fast hitting the guard rail, Sheridan said. The man went up and over the guardrail falling 20 feet down a "very steep hill."

Sheridan said the man suffered major trauma to his torso. Bystanders help move the man off the hill, so he could be transported to a nearby hospital in a medical chopper. Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Nick Street confirmed he died from his injuries.

Both directions of state Route 167 were closed so the helicopter could land.

His identity was not immediately released.
