Randall Jeppeson reporting Driving between cities to find an address in Utah County can be downriguht confusing. That's the argument transportation planners are giving as they study the idea of creating a county-wide grid address systeme like the one in Salt Lake County.
Driving near the hospital and temple in American Fork, the same road changes names eight times. And if your from out of town, even I-15 can be daunting. "Five main streets are interchanges on I-15. Two Center Streets, and two University," says Mountainland Association of Governments transportation planner Shawn Elliot.
Elliot says that's why most of the county mayors voted to study the idea of making one grid address system for everybody. Residents like the idea. "I think that's a good idea. Most people get confused. What's county? What's city?" says one resident.
While residents like the idea, Elliot says it could take years to implement. But he says it makes sense because it's only going to get more confusing, as the 24 cities keep merging together.
